Description: A business plan is an important strategic tool for any organization. Even a brief prevention business plan will push you to do research, crystallize your purpose, and polish your messaging. Without a business plan, you will have a harder time obtaining grants, attracting donors, obtaining qualified board members, and keeping your organization on track. Understanding tried and true tips for building an effective business plan will help your organization establish a roadmap for outlining your goals and objectives, ensure you are cognizant of your competition (yes, nonprofit organizations have competition!), and guarantee that you are staying relevant and ahead of the curve.

Presenter: Ericka Harney PhD, CAE, CFRE, GPC, CVA
Dr. Ericka Harney has over 21 years of experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, and strategic planning. She is responsible for successful fundraising and grant awards of over $35 million. She has educated thousands, served as a federal grant reviewer, co-founded a social enterprise, and was an executive director. At Harney & Associates, Ericka serves a variety of clients around the country. She is also a National Trainer for Grant Writing USA and an Assistant Professor at Future Generations University. Ericka is a Certified Association Executive (CAE), Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), a Grant Professional Certified (GPC), and a Certified Volunteer Administrator (CVA). Her Ph.D. is in Organizational Leadership concentrating on Nonprofit Leadership from Eastern University. She received her Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Kentucky, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Bachelor of Science in Communication.
