Road to an "S" Study Group Cohort #14
Do you want to move to the OCPS credential but you're afriad of the test? This study group is for you!
The Road to an "S" Study Group is a study group deisgned for individuals who are working on obtaining their Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist credential. There are a total of 8 test prep sessions, held on Friday mornings from 9am-10:30am. Please be sure to read the information below.
Meeting Dates:
Friday Mornings from 9am-10:30am
Jan. 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th
Feb. 6th, 20th, and 27th
Components:
1. Eight Test prep sessions
a. Must attend 50% to be considered active
b. Sessions will include some discussion, activities to engage with the material as well as sample tests
2. Individual coaching sessions to review your current education, where it fits in the content areas and suggests for any additional content
3. Attend OCAM trainings
4. For participants who complete the requirements, you will receive partial reimbursement for a successfully passed OCPS test
Objectives:
1. Participants will be able to articulate and achieve the necessary requirements for an OCPS
2. Participants will be prepared to pass the IC&RC Prevention Examination
3. Participants will network with other professionals and gain a deeper understanding of Prevention Practice
Requirements to Apply:
- Those who fit the criteria for an OCPS
- A minimum of an Associate's degree
- One year (2,000 hours) prevention-related work experience (paid or volunteer)
- 120 hours of prevention education in the specified domains
- Completion of 120 practical experience hours in the six performance domain areas
- Those who feel they can be ready to take the test by April 2026
- Already have their OCPSA
