Description:
The public has a lot of say about your prevention organization's fate. If you are not known or seen as impactful, donors will not give, and your nonprofit organization will fail to reach its goals. Implementing effective public relations strategies within your prevention organization can help you define your organization, reach a larger audience, and increase donor and volunteer activity. This training is designed to equip advanced prevention professionals with public relations strategies to help you communicate your achievements, raise awareness, and give you an effective method for responding when the press gets it wrong.
Learning Objectives:
- Define what public relations (PR) is and how it differs from marketing and advertising.
- Recognize the PR practices that prevention professionals are already using in their prevention work.
- Identify the basic strategies to communicate effectively with various audiences.
- Articulate the importance of consistent messaging and building trust in the community.
- Identify how to create a simple public relations plan.
