Description: The Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board (OCDPB) Code of Ethics for Prevention Professionals and Prevention Scope of Practice differs from other disciplines. This training will review, discuss, and apply the requirements to ensure prevention practitioners are operating within the guidelines. Please note: This training is designed for those new to the prevention field (less than five years) and meets the requirement for obtaining or renewing an OCPSA or renewing an OCPS certification. This session is not sufficient for those with supervisory responsibilities. For those interested in obtaining an initial OCPS or OCPC designation, 6.0 contact hours of ethics are required.
Learning Objectives:
- Define ethics and related terms.
- Describe the Ohio Prevention Code of Ethics and how to apply it to various work situations.
- Understand the Prevention Scope of Practice and how that relates to prevention ethics.
