3 hours
Domain: P2-Prevention Education & Service Delivery
Description: Over The Counter (OTC) medications are safe and effective when taken exactly as directed on the label but can cause harm when misused. OTC medications can carry side effects similar to those of prescription medications, even though their availability can lead to the misperception of safety. This session is designed to equip beginner and experienced prevention professionals alike with the key insights needed to address Over The Counter (OTC) medication misuse through in-depth review of CADCA’S Over The Counter Medication Safety Toolkit. Developed by CADCA in collaboration with Scholastic, and Johnson & Johnson, the toolkit features resources for parents, teachers, healthcare professionals, and families. Participants will receive access to all materials and have the opportunity to participate in an ongoing learning community to continue building capacity throughout the year. We invite you to join this interactive session and download toolkit materials to help bring the OTC Medicine Safety program to your community!
