Description: This interactive session is dedicated to a comprehensive understanding and application of the Coalition Core Competencies as defined by CADCA. Designed for beginner prevention professionals, participants will explore the three key areas of competency—operations, community, and prevention—essential for the effectiveness of prevention coalitions.

1. Define CADCA’s 3 Core Competency categories.
2. Recognize at least 2 strategies for effective management and organizational governance for coalition work.
3. Identify techniques for engaging diverse groups & individuals and building partnerships that reinforce coalition objectives
4. Describe the technical skills for developing and implementing best-practice prevention strategies in your community
