1:00 pm - 4:15 pm

Event Summary

Nov 4, 2024
1:00 pm - 4:15 pm

CEUs: Prevention, CHES
3 Hours
Domains: PS2- Fiscal Management

Description: There is never a shortage of well-meaning leaders, public officials, funders, and community stakeholders who want to know: 1) if your prevention services/strategies are working, and 2) if their limited dollars are being spent wisely. Smart organizations understand the importance of having a focus on “quality” as a foundation of everything they do. This is accomplished by having a deliberate, defined, and sound continuous quality improvement (CQI) plan that focuses on your prevention activities, proves that you are being responsive to community needs, and that your services are having a positive preventative impact on the individuals and communities you serve. Having an effective CQI process in place also leads to ongoing professional development for prevention staff, improved satisfaction among program participants, and provides insights into how you can improve your capacity.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define continuous quality improvement
  • Explain why prevention organizations should focus on quality and what “quality” actually means
  • Describe a minimum of two best practices for implementing continuous quality improvement processes in your prevention efforts
