Please Note: This Youth-Led Prevention training is facilitated in two 3 hour sessions on September 22nd from 9am-12:15pm and September 25th from 9am-12:15pm. Participants must attend both sessions!
Description:
This two part training provides a comprehensive exploration of youth-led prevention strategies, empowering participants to build and strengthen programs that are truly driven by young people. We will examine evidence-based frameworks and best practices, focusing on the practical skills needed to foster authentic youth engagement. Through a mix of interactive discussions, tips and tricks, and hands-on activities, participants will learn how to implement effective youth-led prevention initiatives that harness the unique strengths and perspectives of youth. Whether you are brand new to youth-led, or are a seasoned pro, this is an opportunity for you!
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will be able to define three components of the Youth Empowerment Conceptual Framework
- Participants will understand how to support youth-led programs in implementing the Strategic
Prevention Frameworks - Participants can identify two tools to avoid common challenges in youth-led prevention efforts
