Description: 

Are you a coalition leader whose coalition is struggling to accomplish goals? Do you lead volunteers in a community prevention program but have no idea how to retain them? Are you a volunteer manager who hears a lot of frustration from recruited volunteers? In this workshop, for intermediate prevention professionals, participants will discuss real examples of volunteer management pitfalls and leave with tools that can support positive volunteer interaction and goal accomplishment. By utilizing the volunteer management model, participants ensure higher rates of volunteer satisfaction and retention that lead to significant community impact.

1. Explain how the volunteer management model supports the work of prevention in communities.

2. Identify the 5 components of successful volunteer management.

3. Troubleshoot 2 common pitfalls in volunteer management roles.
