Description:
Uncover the connection between Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and student behavior in the school setting. This course will equip educators and prevention staff with a foundational understanding of how the ACEs impact education, their potential impact on social-emotional development, and how these experiences can manifest in the classroom. Learn to recognize trauma-informed indicators and explore practical strategies for fostering a more supportive and responsive learning environment for all students.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Be able to identify three ways that traumatic exposure can impact student behaviors at school
  2. Be able to identify two ways that ACEs impact the youth brain
  3. Be able to identify three strategies that schools can use to create a trauma informed environment
