Description: This comprehensive training introduces prevention professionals to the Social-Ecological Model (SEM) and provides a hands-on opportunity to apply this model to practical behavioral health prevention strategies. Participants will explore and dissect the five domains of the SEM: individual, interpersonal, institutional, community, and policy. Through this exploration, they will identify and develop prevention strategies tailored to each level of the model. Understanding the SEM empowers prevention professionals to create a holistic and integrated approach to addressing behavioral health concerns. This training emphasizes the importance of a multi-level perspective, ensuring that planning, development, and evaluation of prevention efforts are grounded in an evidence-based framework.

Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will be able to define the Social-ecological model and all its components.
2. Participants will be able to discuss the relevance and use of the model as it relates to prevention.
3. Participants will be able to identify prevention strategies at each level of the social-ecological model
