How Does my Agency Become Certified in Prevention? Defining the Ohio Agency Prevention Certification Process

February 9 @2:00 PM - 4:15 PM

Details

CEUs: Prevention, CHES
2 Hours
Domains: P1

In order for agencies to be eligible to receive public funding that supports behavioral health prevention services, they must first achieve prevention certification through the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services. This process, however, can be tedious and hard to navigate. This session will help to unravel the complexities of the agency prevention certification process. Session content will include the difference between deemed and non-deemed status, as well as cover the Human Resources policies, staffing requirements, and other required criteria that are written into Ohio Administrative Code and that agencies must have in place to successfully complete the certification process. The training will also cover the prevention-specific standards that agencies must have in place. Agency leaders who are considering going through this process in order to open up their funding possibilities are welcome to attend and are encouraged to bring Human Resources and/or Program representatives from their agencies.

Learning Objectives:

Session attendees will be able to:

1. Identify the standards for agencies to become prevention certified in the State of Ohio.
2. Describe the path to agency prevention certification in Ohio.
3. Access the resources and tools needed for agencies to begin the prevention certification process.
