This training will review, discuss, and apply the requirements of The Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board (OCDPB) Code of Ethics for Prevention Professionals to ensure prevention practitioners are operating within the scope of practice.

The Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board has a Code of Ethics for Prevention Professionals as well as a Prevention Scope of Practice, which are different from other disciplines. This training will review, discuss, and apply the requirements in order to ensure prevention practitioners are operating within the guidelines. This training will meet the requirement for those interested in pursuing an OCPSA certification, or for those renewing an OCPSA, OCPS, OCPC certification. For those interested in obtaining an OCPS or OCPC designation, 6.0 contact hours of ethics is required.

- Be knowledgeable about the Ohio’s Code of Ethics for Prevention Professionals
- Have a process for determining whether actions are ethical
- Know when, where, and how to report unethical actions
