The Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board (OCDPB) Code of Ethics for Prevention Professionals and Prevention Scope of Practice are different than those for other disciplines. This training will review, discuss, and apply the requirements in order to ensure prevention practitioners are operating within the guidelines. Please note: This training is designed for those new to the prevention field (less than 5 years) and meets the requirement for obtaining or renewing an OCPSA, or renewing an OCPS certification. This session is not sufficient for those with supervisory responsibilities. For those interested in obtaining an initial OCPS or OCPC designation, 6.0 contact hours of ethics are required.
Learning Objectives:
- Be knowledgeable about the Ohio’s Code of Ethics for Prevention Professionals
- Have a process for determining whether actions are ethical
- Know when, where, and how to report unethical actions
