Event Summary
The Prevention Supervision Collaborative is a virtual group that will help to improve your prevention supervision skills, build new skills, and create a stronger network of prevention professionals. This group will meet on the first Friday of every month from 9am-10:30am, each week being a different topic. We will spend 1.5 hours together, leaving the last 30 minutes to focus on group discussion. With that being said, 1 hour of CEUs will be offered in PS1: Personnel Supervision & Program Management as well as PS2: Administration & Consultation.
In order to attend:
- You must have your OCPS, OCPC, or CHES
- You must be currently providing prevention supervision, or plan to within the next 6 months

As remote and hybrid work models become increasingly common, supervisors must adapt to lead effectively in a virtual environment. In this collaborative session, prevention supervisors will explore the core challenges of remote supervision and learn practical techniques to lead effectively from a distance. We’ll cover what great remote supervision looks like, how to strike a balance between micromanaging and monitoring, and how to provide feedback and address underperformance in a virtual setting.

- Identify key challenges in supervising remotely and qualities of effective remote supervision.
- Differentiate between micromanagement and appropriate performance monitoring.
- Use practical steps to address underperformance remotely while maintaining trust and accountability.
